Crude lead pyrometallurgical refining is a multi-stage process that removes impurities from smelted crude lead, yielding refined lead. This process is a critical component of pyrometallurgical lead smelting. Crude lead typically contains copper, nickel, cobalt, bismuth, tin, arsenic, antimony, zinc, sulfur, as well as gold, silver, and rare metals like selenium and tellurium. Therefore, refining aims not only to remove unwanted impurities that affect lead quality but also to recover valuable metals contained in crude lead. The primary refining equipment is the refining pot. It facilitates oxidative refining and alkaline refining to produce high-purity lead.
